Cyclops looks like yours...

••

Like Dave's. I've never thought of that particular design as "mine".

Earliest I recall the open space in the mask being used as Frank Miller's art in the Wolverine mini series.

Early example of the singer being more important than the song.

There are subtle differences, maybe not falling under 'design'. The visor is more streamlined as you left it, and the face looks more like as you rendered it, slightly more slender. I got the sense that Ross based it off of one of your drawings of him.

And with that, I'm very disappointed in his Storm. You and Dave gave her such round eyes, that it was one of her defining characteristics - and I'm baffled that he didn't reproduce that. And white eyebrows??

Like I said, cosplay.

I was a huge fan of Ross, when I first saw his work in MARVELS. That shot of Giant Man striding across a Manhattan avenue! Mind blowing.

But more and more over the years the fact that he used models in homemade costumes became obvious. In the end, it all looks like cosplay--sometimes with unfortunate effects!

I agree with your viewpoint JB.

I was at first blown away by Alex Ross in Marvels (and
Terminator: Burning Earth before that). But more and more
it seemed that people were in poses rather than in action,
and costumes were seemed.

I don't like that X-Men picture on the previous page at
all.

Alex Ross did some pretty interesting X-MEN redesigns a while back. I kinda like them, though I do feel they look more like bad guys this way.

What's the point of hooded trench coats?

And any design that has long sleeves for Wolverine I am opposed to.

I do you like the concept of cyclops having a single-color head piece, and the only thing standing out is the single eye line.

I will amend one of my comments above.

Wolverine should never be in a onesie, either.
