Clifford "Kip" Russell. From my avatar. This is the best known "Kip", in my opinion.

I went to high school with a fellow named Kip. It was short for Kipling.
Welcome to the JBF, by the way, Kip!

That was Kip Winger.

The answer to this question from JB would be a great addition to the FAQ!

No, we call him Kip Walker. His son is Kit Walker.

In my opinion two of the best things that JB did for the Superman
mythos were keeping the Kents alive, and that wonderful scene where
Clark reveals his true nature to Lana Lang. It demonstrated a very
tangible connecttion to his (Earth) human roots which resonated long
after the initial initial "reboot".
Frankly, I believe that when the current Smallville series comes to an end, they should take great pains to reproduce the Clark/Lana "big reveal" scene verbatim, as it really is the final important moment in their teenage lives before Clark decides to actually be that one man who can make a difference because he alone can.

I predict for the Smallville finale:
1) The death of Jonathan Kent as taken from the first movie.
2) The Clark/Lana reveal scene from Man of Steel, possibly soon after his
dad's funeral.
I'd call that the best of both worlds. As much as I liked JB's Superman,
the death scene from the first movie has such an emotional impact that I
can't help but prefer it.

The Kents being alive makes the character much more appealing to me, and keeps him grounded. He may be Kryptonian, but he thinks and feels like an earthling (and an American).

[QUOTE=Eric Kleefeld]I predict for the Smallville finale:

2) The Clark/Lana reveal scene from Man of Steel, possibly soon after his dad's funeral.
QUOTE]
My vote? Lana will learn of Clark's powers before the demise of Jonathan ( which seems to be envitable). But Jonathan's death will be caused, in some way, by Clark's powers being revealed. After Jonathan's death Clark takes it upon himself to once again distance himself from those he cares for, hence, leaving Lana to "lang"uish in Smallville. Now this theory only holds true if Jonathan, and possibly Martha, wasn't killed by the meteor in the past season's finale. I don't believe the "Man of Steel" scene would work as well because I got the distinct feeling that Byrne wanted the reader to get the idea that although Clark cared for Lana he was not truly in love with her.

Suddenly he has to age 20 years. I don't look at the Superman movies to find what happened to Jonathan Kent. I peek in a recent Superman book and he's still alive. The Jonathan and Martha Kent on Smallville are clearly based on the Man of Steel Jonathan and Martha Kent. There is nothing from the pre-crisis universe in there, except for Luthor being in Smallville, but it's the present business man Luthor. Your predictions are very peculiar, but we love the same series.

I thought Alice Cooper was a band name at the time, might be the wrong era.
I recall that I have also heard Kit Walker, but it has been Kip for a long long time. (About the Phantom).
