Just read this in the newest Lying in the Gutters

"And now it's been confirmed to me by a DC source that the gorgeous looking "Blood Of The Demon" will also not continue after issue 18."

The Doom Patrol thing made sense, but it seems a tad premature to be calling for Demon's demise, particularly when there are still 12 more issues to go based on that.  On the other hand, even if it is true, at least that means we're guaranteed 12 more issues of BotD goodness.

Wish Rich could have kept himself from leaking this one, though.  Calling for a book's demise this early in the game tends to lead to self fulfilling prophecies.

This will kill BotD sales. DC has to shut this gossip bitch down.

Since when is BOTD confirmed for 18 issues? I hardly think DC would make a sales decision on a title with a years worth of issues worth to run!  Either he means issue #12 or BOTD has earned an extension! The sales of the next few issues will likely be critical though.

In any case the Trolls are already spreading this. Thanks Rich.

Of more interest is that RJ has seemed to post exactly the same Byrne/Nelson comparisons that I posted here!

And of greater interest again the Doctor Who spoiler I peeked at...

I don't recall JB ever telling us how many issues his agreement for BOTD calls for. Wonder if he picked 18 just because that's how many his DP agreement was for? Either way, I wish people would stop these "leaks". Whether true or not, it's gotta suck for JB when he reads these things.

How ?

Seems very early for them to have reached this decision if true - sales just spiked with the recent Big Three guest stars and they have a Crisis tie-in coming up so there's every chance that sales will steady around 16K a month.

Funny that no one from DC has bothered to mention this to me.

Is it possible that a (barely even rumored) cancellation like this
would be Crisis-related, and not dependent on sales? Magic is
having a rough time in the DCU... it's possible that Demon won't
fit into the New Way.

Although this sounds more likely a mix-up with DP's #18 last
issue.
