Is it possible that a (barely even rumored) cancellation like this
would be Crisis-related, and not dependent on sales? Magic is
having a rough time in the DCU... it's possible that Demon won't
fit into the New Way.

****************

If this is the case, the book shouldn't even have started. DiDio, et al have known for quite some time the direction the DCU is going. If it isn't going to fit their plan, why release the book in the first place?

I have to admit that Mark Waid laid into Rumor Jockey nicely when he was falsely reporting that Mark Silvestri was leaving the project that he just started with Waid.
I tend to find most of his online comments childish and petty - but Jockey deserved it in this case.

"Funny that no one has bothered to mention this to me. "-JB

That's because it's untrue! However this is a test. It's a test to see if RJ can pick a book at random and kill it. If this turns out to be true there'll be no stopping him...

This seems so ridiculous, and yet it is items like this that cause retailers to rethink their orders (and some fans to rethink their purchases) because it comes from an "authority."

One of four things is happening here:

1. The DC source is lying to Rich
2. Rich is telling a falsehood
3. DC really did cancel it and didn't tell JB
4. The source got confused with Doom Patrol

I'd guess #4 to be the most likely. But what are DC sources doing talking to a rumor column anyhow? Unprofessional.

"but Jockey deserved it in this case."-Vincent.

Nice! I didn't know that. That's pretty cool! However in RJ's world, that tells him that he has the professionals running around after him...as in comic book professionals...Not Bodie & Doyle Professionals;-)

I'm going to go with door number two!

One wouldn't benifit DC. Three just wouldn't be proffessional as you say. Four is also likely but not as likely as RJ making something up!

There probably are individuals in DC who want to get rid of Byrne. I think JB should involve himself more with the core titles because those are the books they cannot lie about without crossing Didio or Levitz.

Sources have lied to the rumormongers before in order to catch them in an embarassment. Perhaps this is one of those cases, but why sabotage another's career to do it?

Lil' RJ is sore about a lot of things concerning this forum.  First and foremost, it really bugs the crap out of him that he can't post here like he used to for years on the old Magnus and Net54 board.  That we saw through his "doe-eyed innocent" act as a ruse to gather grist for his "column" has never sat well with him.
