To be fair, I think it is safe to say they have totally missed the core of Wolverine’s character.

He became a teacher for crying out loud
 -----------
Well, they made Cyclops a murderer and Wolverine the headmaster of the school for a while, didn't they?
Maybe someone accidentally put the wrong character names in an X-Men script and nobody was brave enough to correct the Powers That Were! LOL |

The latest page was excellent, a masterclass in doing quiet scenes while dropping little character details.  Plus Kitty acting like a young teenager; we've become so accustomed to her being this super genius, ninja, bad ass that we forget she started as just an ordinary 13 year old kid.

Thanks again for doing this, JB. It's a real treat for those of us who miss the X-MEN.

Yeah, the ninja thing was so the wrong way to go for her.

Especially when it came to female characters, Chris simply could not do “ordinary”.

 | Cyclops look is perfection, not too bulky, boot cuffs, visor, everything!
Love the reflection on that kitchen island. Great wet look!

Gotta say, fingers suddenly rising out of a table top would freak me out, too!

It's really amazing how these issues are so familiar and yet so new!  It's great seeing "Kitty Pryde:  Girl Genius" getting into regular ol' trouble.  (Hey maybe for inciting the destruction of the mansion kitchen, you can add back the "Kitty gets spanked by Wolverine" scene......just kidding)

 2 questions:
 1. did you ever come up with an individualized costume idea for Kitty at any point in the last 40 years?
 2. And, possibly unrelated, which character have you had the most fun drawing during this project? |

          1) No. "Writing in the middle" meant to me that Kitty would never go beyond her school uniform.

Loving this book! And in that last panel today... I can't help thinking it's a scene from the Roger Rabbit short, "Tummy Trouble", the one being filmed at the beginning of "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" I know that there's nothing funny about this... but to me, there is. Now, we just need Wolverine with his tuchus on fire, running around the walls of the X-Kitchen...

I realized we didn't see a lot of her.
