I observe that this chapter is 19 pages as opposed to the 20 page average length of other chapters.  Since this is one page short, are we entitled to a refund?  (I speak in jest; no offense is intended to our gracious host.)

When JB started this project, I remember comments made about how the chapters could be any number of pages in length and would not be limited to the confines and space limitations of printed periodicals.  I find it interesting that the creator of Elsewhen has generally averaged approximately 20 pages for each chapter without having that limitation imposed by a publisher.

Is it possible that 20 pages is the sweet spot in length for chapters in graphic storytelling?  Or is it perhaps force of habit for a prolific artist accustomed to telling a story in chapters of a certain length on other projects?

Timothy, these were released a page a day, Monday through Friday, and JB kept to the monthly format throughout this project. That's why they are 20 pages. (1 page a day, 5 days a week, 4 weeks a month - if there was a fifth week, it was always a bye week).

And thanks again, JB, for giving us something to look forward to during the pandemic!
