The sharp of eye among you will notice Mjolnir has been edited out of the debris at the feet of the M-Men. That is because as the actual story evolved, Thor did not fall with his fellow Avengers.

I love how it was established, and you continued in ELSEWHEN, that Magneto is afraid of no one.....except for Thor. In their first encounter (by Stan and Jack, no less) Thor wiped the floor with him!

Confession: I didn’t remember that. It just seemed natural that Magneto would fear the God of Thunder.

Serendipity, then!

JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY #109 - LINK . Thor just picks him up and tosses him! The dialog is perfect for the scene.

“I am more than man… more than mutant! I am THOR.”

God, I love that guy.

Why are there so many people online seeking to “explain” ELSEWHEN? Why must they try to force it into established continuity?

Why can’t they simply accept it for the fun little fantasy exercise I intended?

I’m going to blame the multiverse sages, across all platforms and
companies for that one.
People have grown up where everything is connected - even Watchmen is
now within DC multiverse.
They are hard wired to be incapable of thinking a story can stand on its
own.
Me? I have no problem with that thinking and actually dispise the everything
is connected crap.

James, just another reason that I have for being grateful
at growing up in the 70's and the age of What If.....

One of the nice things about ELSEWHEN being in this format is that it should help lend itself to the fact that its not bound (no pun intended) to any established continuity.

Chris Ryall sent along a picture of the second cover. It uses the WHAT IF… Magneto commission. Looks sharp.

I’ll leave it to Abrams to do the official reveal!

The solicitation is up!

Thanks for the update, Michael.

Just pre-ordered mine through Amazon.

Love the cover.
