       | Shooter complained about big shots of the villain reveal on the last page. "That just turns the last page into an ad for the next issue," he said. To which we all responded "Which is a bad thing... why?" | | |
Not a bad thing at all IMO; in fact, I was always nuts about the final page villain reveal shot. I was especially a fan when you'd do it with the Super-Skrull, which seemed to happen a lot. I had the Marvel Chillers story with Tigra and Red Wolf, and the one from Marvel Team-Up, the Sasquatch solo story from Alpha Flight, one from Namor... I love me a nice Super-Skrull reveal page!

I get a little adrenaline rush we I see that the latest issue of Elsewhen has been updated. What a nice way to start the day seeing new Byrne art. The NYC street scene of the Hellfire Club is amazing. I always think it would be a nice alternate reality with you being an architect, what wonderful spaces would create!

Back to the comic, the Scarlet Witch steals the show, she's so well drawn.

Y'know, I'm starting to think that this Gyrich fella is a real jerk....guess he doesn't think much about his role as government liaison to the Avengers! |

 | •• Dad was an architect, so it's in the blood! That shot of the Hellfire Club mansion, btw, points to a major change in the world. When I first drew that building, I had no access to appropriate reference, so I drew only closeups and faked it (based mostly on NYC movies I'd seen). Now, I am walking around with an inexhaustible reference library in my pocket. A quick google of 5th Avenue mansions, and. . . . . . (My source here was the Vanderbilt mansion, which was demolished in 1926. The site is now accupied by 666 5th Ave, which used to hold the offices of DC Comics.)

 | •• Confession: I hated the whole concept of Gyrich. It was such a Real World intrusion. OF COURSE there would be Government oversight on the Avengers, but did we really need it in the comics? Here, I get to show how pointless such an arrangement would be anyway. A powerful group or individual that does not wish to be controlled will not be controlled.

What happens when you give the keys to a mad man? They go to the nth degree and look to what the conclusion of doing that would allow them to do. And then they go and do it.
People in the way? The ends justify the means. You can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs
That's why I loved comics, that's why I love this series. Thank you. |

The Hellfire mansion looks awesome in that shot! I also like the way you drew the monitors in a sea of shadow. Each page is fun to look at for the details as much as the action.

Messing with Wanda might be Shaw’s undoing...
