The more I dwell on what is going on in those panels, the more horrible it is.

 | •• A point Chris and I were never able to make to Shooter. Once the "horribly tortured for all eternity" scenario got into his head, "just" being lobotomized was not good enough. And keep in mind, for a telepath/telekinetic like Jean to be shut down like that, it would be like losing five out of five senses for a normal person.

oh! It just dawned on me that in the recap (or any other flashbacks), you probably cannot reprint any of the original dialog.

I think seeing Jean so evocatively, with a 5-year-old's mentality, has really drive home what was lost.

That's what great art does. Helps us find empathy.

I do want to mention, as great as today's panel was --- the original, with the light-bloom off of Cyclops's visor and the gritted teeth --- stayed with me indelibly to this day.

EDIT: Something broken --- guess I haven't mastered the art of embedding an image quite yet! (Shows up fine in the preview!?)

Tear in the eye seeing her beaten up Marvel Girl costume again after all these years. Great page, JB.

I didn't see that twist coming even if it's logical and makes perfect sense!

That is as crystal clear an explanation of how Dark Phoenix happened as I can imagine. Lilandra, you are ice cold.

It's mostly as I thought regarding this copy of Jean (saving a few spoilers until all about that is revealed -just in case) though it is somehow still sad... I'm not sure what is (or isn't) happening with the "prime" Jean though (unless it follows original events of course)… Can't wait to see.

Either Lilandra just didn't want to make things worse for Scott and Co. (not knowing what happened to the original Jean) which I kind of doubt OR Lilandra is a terrible, terrible person after all?
