I have to admit that I found Kitty's "POP THOSE CLAWS! SNIKT! SNIKT!" encouragement rather cute.

 | •• I have to admit I was concerned that the bit might be a touch too "meta", but I decided sound effects are, after all, supposed to represent what the characters actually hear, so Kitty saying SNIKT is not so outrageous, really.

Really like this latest page. The first panel is gorgeous. As is that close-up on Jean's face -- the best I've seen you draw her in Elsewhen, I think. Good to have some of these character moments, where we get to see some of the impact of recent events on our cast of characters.

Well at this point, in many ways, Elaine's been through more than Jean has.  Who could blame her?

 | Yeah, I was just thinking recently of how much more could her parents take? But you know things have been happening recently at a pace where they haven't had much time to reflect.

She's hit her breaking point. She lost her daughter, then had her return, then found out it wasn't really her daughter--and then soon after, saw her real flesh-and-blood offspring return for real.

 | Add in that her home was trashed by giant robots looking to capture or kill the mutants her daughter lived among and you can see where she couldn't cope with any more. |
