Once again...the level of detail is breathtaking.

Love it! Ashley gets to see first hand that... sometimes you're going to be camping for a bit when you come to the school.

JB, as a practical issue, when a character is *amid* wreckage, does your approach to drawing it change? I'm mindful of that plank with the crack in it next to Ashley, as well as several items that are more recognizable than debris is often shown to be.
I like how this is done quite a bit, btw--it brings to mind the aftermath of a tornado, where you see wreckage that has identifiable personal items (a toy, a mattress, etc.) among the mounds of ruined home-and-hearth.
 Thanks! |

 | •• I approach it in several ways, sometimes all on the same page. If the figures are large, as here, I will draw the rubble*/wreckage around them. If they are smaller, I will draw the full rubble** field, and then erase the patches that will be the figures. ____________________ * No ** Still no

Argle bargle. Argle bargle. Your word just keep rolling around in my head.

What's the secret to making it look so good? The details or shadows in the crevices? (Probably both.)

 | •• Given that my experience with editors has led to balloons being in the wrong panels, whole pages of copy being left off, balloon pointers redirected to the wrong characters, and all manner of "corrections" that led to things being made WRONG, I'm gonna say no.

Did you ever use editors that you trusted to bounce ideas off of? Did you have to get plot points pre-approved?
 Thanks! |

Mr. Byrne, I've never been in the comic business, but I'll wager that there is a considerable difference between an editor and a proofreader. I suspect the latter might be less annoyingly intrusive. Is that how it has worked?
