Mr. Byrne does not at all like "A or B" questions - it's in the guidelines. You should format a question with one answer, e.g., "Do you find it easiest to draw those postage stamp size cover homages?" You'll get a better result, pal.

Great splash. Thought that was Doom Patrol on there for a minute then realised it's the 1950's Avengers.

Took me a second or two to figure out those were the covers to the old What If's.  Nice to see.  Talk about memory lane.  Of course, this entire series is shooting me back - need to re-read some of my old 80's comics so I can catch more of the background references.  Bought so many in Omnibus format so I wouldn't need to dig through boxes upon boxes but now should actually, you know, read them.

 | Love the ruins, and the homages to "What If...?" on The Watcher's viewer screens.

Every time I draw the Blue Area I flash back to that kid who picked up FF 13 off a spinner rack in Edmonton, Canada. Nervously, as I have mentioned before, since this issue featured a “ghost”, and I was a sensitive child, prone to nightmares deep into my teens.

 | Great sigh of relief when the villain turned out to be an altogether different kind of “ghost”.

I can't remember - have you ever used the Red Ghost in a story, JB? And any possibility he and the Super Apes could show up to fight in ELSEWHEN?

To the best of my memory, Ivan Kragoff and his Super Apes have dropped out of my pencil only for OHOTMU.

Marvel was so matter-of-fact about it, that it was so easy for a kid like me to believe that the Savage Land and Blue Area were real!

I love that the Watcher is monitoring the alternate realities in the order they were published in What If.

And I still feel What If #3 is one of the best comics Marvel ever published. |

The "group shot" poster is the only place that comes to mind otherwise.

Loved that poster.... It had to make way for more important things when the boys were born.

Red Ghost and his Super Apes seem like the kind of villains who might have graced John's She Hulk for a minute of fun and frivolity (Dr. Bong being one of my favorite examples of this modus operandi) but it seems not to have happened. The loss is ours!
