Well there’s something we don’t see every day: a frightened Magneto!

 |   I too was expecting a somewhat different result but I’m not complaining... Terrific opening pages so far!

Did Mastermind use his illusions to trick Thor into killing his teammates?

 | Rod: "...Interesting to note that Alt-Cyclops' powers are different to our Cyclops', in that they generate heat as well as concussive force..."
I didn't chalk it up as steam, but a bit of artistic license for dramatic effect.

I got the impression the Alt-Cyclops has the same powers (as he is Scott Summers) but the helmet changes the nature of the beam adding an element of “heat” to the concussive force...and augmenting the concussive power as well.  Thus the stream of heat rising from the visor opening.

I'll reverse speculate - I thought Wanda was going to send Mjolnir skirting into the sun, leaving Don Blake to die in airless orbit of Earth. How lovely it is to be wrong!

 Eric,
 I had the same thought,.
But if I remember my Thor history, he does not revert to Don Blake while he's away from Earth. |

Early page 4 release. Love Elsewhen while brewing a pot of coffee. Poor alt world Kurt having to die in order for the M-Men to jump across time lines. Makes me wonder how that reality would evolve without so many other heroes. New Skrull home world or would Galactus come along and end its existence?

I just glanced past page 3 on my way to the latest page, and I had the thought that Magneto in the last panel looks like Peter Capaldi...which actually wouldn't be bad casting!

GO GO GO! When Thor comes calling, it's time to eject from reality.

I do like the contrast that Magneto's team is a bunch of dirtbag children led by the ultimate dirtbag coward asshole. Not a surprise that after all the huffing and puffing about ruling the world, they end up running away at the first sign of repercussions.

Also, goofy timeline question - have the Avengers found Captain America in the ice yet, at this point in the Alt-Magneto-verse timeline?
