JB: It’s all pretty spontaneous. There’s something in my brain that jangles if a word or phrase seems wrong for a character, but mostly I trust my “inner ear”

Argh... no speculation but now I'm going nuts trying to think of what that building is that suddenly appeared where the mansion is.  Can't recall any stories of something ancient below the mansion.  Guess we'll see in a day or so.  As we all know JB knows his Marvel history so I'm sure it will make sense and be something I'd have got in the 80's immediately when I knew this stuff inside out.

Love the image of Angel leaning over Angel.  The ruffled feathers.  Just looks right for after a battle. |

It's a nifty mystery... the structure(s) are different but put me in the mind of Attilan (last I heard you'd deposited that on top of the Blue Area, coincidentally the first panel of the first issue of this extravagant 22-issue-thus-far-gift) or perhaps one of those futuristic Infantino skylines I used to adore in THE FLASH. Whatever it is... enjoying the ride.

That is an excellent splash page. I like how you make the figures pop in the foreground and the trees are a little paler/less distinct. Nice.

"...and to your left, behind those stone walls is a great big crater locals have dubbed the 'Graymalkin Gorge.' Nobody seems to know what happened, but neighbors Abner and Gladys said there was a huge boom! Unfortunately, none of the other neighbors could corroborate this so the mystery continues. Next on the tour, we're going to stop at Scoops in downtown Salem Center!"

Before any of you expend too much mental energy over it, there is absolutely no significance to the grey smudge over alt-Cyclops in the second panel of today's page. Just the heel of my hand dragging across the art.

One of the best examples of someone getting it right, for
me, was JB's Star Trek New Visions series. Everyone just
 sounded on point.

One of the worst, without doubt, was Bendis writing Doctor
Doom and calling Ms Marvel a bitch. Doom would NEVER use
language like that, it was so far beneath him as to not
even register. And yet an editor allowed it to happen.

I just noticed alt-Cyclops wears different boots to our
 Scott, nice touch there.
