Poor Pablo. That kid has a lot of power to manage for such a young kid. Who even knows how he processes information or what he feels beyond what a normal mind does.

Carla has such a distinct, real face. She's a really great human addition to the cast and has been since we met her. I miss "real" characters like her. |

I'll say. This is why comics is such a fantastic and unique medium - you can convey a startling change with two silhouettes, a radiating effect involving the panel borders, and no colour whatsoever. I think anything but flat colour in a panel like this would probably *diminish* the effect.
Needless to say, JB is a master of this "less is so much more" kind of storytelling (I'll say it anyway!) |

That sound effect does not bode well for whichever Magneto that is!

There are times where I feel that JB makes the Friday page extra-dramatic on purpose. But the advanced planning you'd have to do to pull that off...

Wow again! Well, to use an expression I seem to return to often here: that was unexpected!

 | I can't wait for Monday either, though since I'm going on a short vacation out of town (and don't know if I'll have internet access), I might do a lot of catching up on Wednesday evening. |

As a parent, I feel for Pablo having to face such things that his power is literally bursting.

 | •• I honestly don't pay any conscious attention to the day the page I'm drawing will be "published". As you note, that could make for a lot of work!
