Well, if there had been any part of the mansion left after the Dark Phoenix incident--not any more!

Great page. Wonder what is replacing the mansion?

 | I have absolutely NO idea where this is going... And that's the way I like it!
I know some don't consider phrases like "What in Blazes?" to be "realistic," but I dig those alternatives to profanity that I consider a part of superhero comics!

A gang scene to make one drool! That's just gorgeous, even if I wish hirsute Hank might be there (a consideration, not a request.)

And your artistry, Mr. Byrne - I continue to love it. You even make M-Angel look evil just by the disarray of his feathers. How do you DO it? |

 | ••• It comes down to appropriate use for the person speaking. As Roger Stern observed, long ago, Wolverine is someone who would punctuate with the f-bomb—“in-f**king-credible”—while Ben Grimm is the kind of guy who would actually say “blankety-blank”.

 | JB, have you ever made notes for yourself on how some characters speak? When there's a large cast, it must be something of a challenge to give them different voices and so I wondered if you had notes or reminders for yourself for this kind of thing when scripting. Thanks! |

It’s all pretty spontaneous. There’s something in my brain that jangles if a word or phrase seems wrong for a character, but mostly I trust my “inner ear”.

You articulate the characters as they truly were. They have gotten so callously treated in the past few decades, they had all effectively "died". ELSEWHEN feels like a miraculous resurrection.

Quite a dynamic splash page today. The three day wait makes it all the more sweeter, and the "issue" format makes me feel like I just returned from the comic shop holding a new treasure.

Thank you so much for continuing to do this for us.

 | During my run on FF I had Doom back Sue into an impossible corner to compel her to do his bidding. As she leaped into the fray I got permission from Those on High to have her say “Damn you, Doom!” The editor, without consulting me, changed it to “curse you”, not something I could imagine Sue saying. If he’d only had the courtesy to call me about it, I would have come up with something more in character for Sue to say.
