But most important... todays page reenforced the beauty of this experiment you're doing... you can do anything you want. •• I find myself thinking in those terms from time to time, and reminding myself that I still have my own version of the Comics Code in my head. There are SOME things I can't do!

What we have here, is an admission that the writer sometimes gets things wrong. We've had this admission before, but that was solved by removing the pages before we saw them.
Here we have the realisation after the pages have been produced and 'published'. And rather than plough on, JB has the guts to just say 'I need to stop this'.
Bravo. Elsewhen should not be beholden to publishing rules that make the whole less than the sum. And it's not

Enjoyed that a great deal-- it was a fun, upbeat way to deal with a dangling subplot that was going south. Glad Peter will be fully healed now and... I guess we'll see (maybe) if Lilandra has PTSD over having been a Phoenix.

I'm hoping we don't see Lilandra for a while. I'm looking forward to spending some time with the Two Magnetos.

Chiming in to say I really enjoyed the latest issue of ELSEWHEN.... the wrapping up of one storyline interwoven with the beginnings of a new one was very well done, JB. 'Course, that's what I've grown to expect with your work!

Can't wait to see how it progresses next week!

What?  Did you just retcon a mistake, JB?  Worst change ever!  It's even worse than the Spiderman clone saga!!   Makes the Colossus tree change seem trivial (!!!) The story is ruined!!!!  The alignment of the universe has been forever changed... the... uh... well.. actually... that's pretty damned funny LOL   [Just wanted to give JB *one* exploding head ;-) ]

Kinda makes me feel like we are the story editors seeing the story before its "published" release (or maybe playing a beta version of a video game). Of course, now this may necessitate a reread when and if the corrections are made (what "torture")...

Well, if it wasn’t obvious you were having fun, this last page confirms it, very neat.
I should know better, but I’m constantly amazed by the continuous levelling up of the art, It’s such a pleasure to witness.
The last panel of Scott and Jean is beautiful and a perfect example of comics storytelling at it’s very best working on many levels. The words tell us one thing the picture something else. The composition leads the eye deep into the panel to the two figures, Scott’s subtle head turn and back out to the heavier blacks, which serve to push everything back into the panel but also portent to something else.
Composition, depth, rendering, black/white balance, character gesture and picture/word play, so, so good. It also brings to mind the aborted version of issue 138.
Needless to say, I really like this panel, just stunning.

You know, John could have simply had Colossus totally healed on Monday in the new issue without explanation or with one line like, "Wow, I'm finally healed! That took longer than expected." Colossus is a near indestructible super human, but instead, he had a little fun with this, and I am glad that he did.
Even if this was collected and printed, you could simply leave out this page and move on like he just healed. Sans a deeper, sinister subplot,, that is that would have happened anyway.

I just love that last panel of Scott and Jean walking away through the trees! JB did you use a reference picture for that?
