The one thing I was hoping for in OMD was the return of Gwen Stacy but I see her death is still going to remain. I wish Marvel success with the book but I won't be buying it.

My GOD!...Quesada did it again. It seems like an easy way to undo all the garbage and damage done to Spider-Man. To me, Spidey is dead. With OMD, to me, seems like Peter did not loved MJ as he proclaimed to do...

For what it's worth, I would not chose my mother's life, mostly lived, over my wife's. I love them both, and she is my mother, but my wife is my life.
Am I wrong?

Personally I don't think so Ted. I'm right there with you. Also, I don't think my mother would want me to choose her over my wife and any future children.

Well, Spider-Man wasn't asked to choose between Aunt May's life and Mary Jane's life. He was asked to choose between Aunt May's life and his marriage. MJ is still alive and well at the end of the story - just not in love with Peter.
Not saying I liked the story, but given the set-up, there was only one choice he could've made.

Good point, Bruce. The words failed me, but I would still not chose my mother's life over my marriage. We all gotta die someday, and the children gotta come before the parents. My children before me too.

Here's a fundamental question: What would Aunt May say--and what would
she think of Peter--if she knew what he did in order to save her life?
Seems to me that Roger Stern's graphic novel DOCTOR STRANGE/DOCTOR
DOOM: TRIUMPH AND TORMENT, should've been required reading before
work began on "One More Day."

Everyone here seems to hate this idea. My question is WHY? Or maybe exactly WHICH part do you hate? Is it the concept of the big change/do over? Or the execution? Is it that it utilizes Mephisto? Just curious.

Good questions, Howard. I dislike the idea of hitting the Cosmic Reset button, particularly for a street-level character like Spider-Man. The execution was fine, I suppose - I just don't like the concept.
The "Big Change" has been so overdone in comics in the past 10 years. I'd much rather see just a simple, back-to-basics approach to telling Spider-Man stories (like the stories you and JB told in your underrated run on ASM).
And Glenn, I'm sure Aunt May would've said, "I'm just a foolish old woman...don't worry about me" and shuffled off to make wheatcakes at that big kitchen in the sky. But Peter and Mary Jane couldn't let her do that, so they made a heroic sacrifice (and Mary Jane was the first one to speak up). Again, I don't have any problem with how they handled the situation - but they never should've been put in that situation to begin with!

I am fine with the reboot. The "deal with the devil" aspect is what I don't like. I would prefer that Peter give up something important to him (his relationship with Mary Jane) simply because it's the right thing to do. Because he's a hero, you know.
