I don't mind some commissions done in color if they were meant to be. Tho like watching a black and white movie or tv program, after a while I see the colors anyways.

Jim Warden and his son Matt stopped by Byrne Central today, to take possession of the piece. At Matt's request I added a Barney -- and a Fred! The two cavemen are now standing as tiny figures in the deep background -- my solution to there being no actual "rubble" in the shot!

Still no sign of anyone attempting to color this piece.

This is me, smiling.

The best Angel and Kitty I've ever seen…

••

I was allowing myself a warm and fuzzy moment, rereading the comments in this thread, and I caught this one. Not sure how I missed it before.

I want to say, in all sincerity, thank you for your phrasing. So many fans, when trying to express this thought, have a habit of using a variation and "Best you've done in years!" And tho I hope most of them don't mean it as such, that reads as a very backhanded compliment. Kind of like saying "Glad you're finally back on you game."

(And, yes, there are some who use this kind of phrasing as a deliberate insult. "Byrne has been off his A game for years, but this thing I just saw is pretty good!" Usually they are referring to the latest commission, which makes me wonder when was the last time they actually looked at my work!)*

* A favorite was on another board, where a guy reacted to the latest commission by saying "See! His old stuff WAS better!" Because he liked the piece, he assumed it was "old stuff," and went all silent when someone pointed out the date on it!

WOW! I was clicking through the gallery and found this beauty!!! Amazing if ever there was an example of the benefits of not writing the piece for John this is it!!! You have done so many commissions that a it's hard to keep up with all of them, so I stroll to the gallery from time to time and BAM I get hit with a awesome beauty like this. So glad it is going to the Warden family!

JB IS THE BEST!

Wow! Three and a half years since last I checked, and it seems that nobody has yet tried to color this piece.

Huzzah!!

Incredible piece!
Stunned nobody has made a public attempt to color it. The Wonder Man you did for me was colored and posted within a couple of months after I got it.
