Didn’t Erik the Red restore Magneto to his peak physical condition?

I loved this issue! Wonderful art and story! I wish there was anything on the stands that was half this much fun. Thanks again for sharing this with us, sir.

Eric: ...We all have an understanding of where things are headed with Jean...

Really? I thought I was pretty caught up on my JB/XME trivia, but outside of remembering JB said he had new ideas on the matter, I have no idea where things are going with Jean.

I LOVE seeing her just head out. Somehow, as foolish as it may be, the self-determination of it is compelling. Almost like Jean Grey is "in there" trying to come out.

I'm quite aware of the JB's concept for Elsewhen. What I mean is we all understand where things are headed based on the story. We can all see something unexpected is occurring with Jean, but let's not speculate here on the boards. My comment is about how I feel like no matter what I think might be happening, JB will give us a story that nobody thought of and it will still feel "right" for the X-Men. Also, give yourself more credit for having an understanding, Mark. JB thinks you are "very close".

JB - Forgive me if this was already asked, but is this story set in the 80s, or today?  Eg., does everyone have a smart phone and access to the internet or does none of that exist yet?

Like most comicbook stories written in the present tense, it takes place “now”.

Which is the only sensible answer. It wouldn't make any sense for the these X-Men to be stuck in the 80s.

It's sad that that depicting the classic versions, the definitive 'on-model' versions, is seen as perhaps existing only in a niche window of time. 'On-model' is the version we should get every time.

It is incredibly enjoyable to (a) spend time with these characters that seem so right and familiar and (b) to be invited along for a ride that is into the unknown and yet know whatever that unknown is, we can trust the storyteller to tell it right.

Oh wow, I now have a theory but I can’t even hint at it lest I spoil things...

I am loving this series. But wasn't DOCTOR DOOM supposed to appear in issue five? I could have sworn Mr. Byrne hinted to that at some point.

There was an old joke at Marvel that Doom always appears in the fifth issue of a new title. And a joke is all it was, since it wasn’t really true.

I'd forgotten about that. Still, it must be pretty heavy to lug around.
