Your Storm is pitch perfect in today's installment. Extreme power, and then
level headed decisions.

Loved the showdown with Magneto, the shot of his exit is outstanding. I agree with Tim, your Storm continues to shine. Another gem of a page JB!

To be fair, Magneto can manipulate Wolverine's adamantium skeleton and claws whether his claws are out or not, so I guess he figured his one chance was to strike quickly and hope to injure him before he can react. Didn't work out, of course, but it was the best shot he had.

Interesting. I thought that those last two panels indicated why Ororo would NOT make a good leader. When Magneto takes off, she should be RIGHT after him. Instead, she wastes time telling Pyotr redundancies. Of COURSE she's going after him - what, would head out for a danish at this time? And of COURSE he would look after Cyclops and Wolverine.

It's a quick moment, but when fighting Magneto, there's no time to waste. Personally, I would think that Cyclops' number two should be Nightcrawler - reasonable, smart, and a hint of panache that would sell well to the readers.

Now, that shot of Storm vs Magneto in the second panel made me sit up straight - THAT THERE IS SOME ART!!! It looks great in b&w - color would make a different picture, but not necessarily a better one.

These pages of Magneto's battle are epic, magnificent, majestic and already mythical. I have no word to say how moving it is and a privilege to see the creation of this masterpiece.

The drawing is so precise that inking may not be necessary (even if I would love so much to see this pages inked, colored and published !). I wonder what would be the result of a direct coloring from your sketches, as we sometimes see (JR Jr, for example).

And I get the feeling we will have to wait for a bit to find out...

Great shots of Colossus and Wolverine this latest page.

Hmmm... Looks like there may be some after effects from the last tussle with Magneto (both ways)...

I was surprised, working on this project, to find Chris and I used Magneto only once in our run. That discovery created an interesting consideration in terms of elapsed time. Just how much would there be between that single appearance and what I am doing here? Thirty odd issues equals.... what, for the X-Men?

But, of course, I should warn everyone that I am not binding myself religiously to established continuity, here. I'm allowing myself to roam, if only a little.

Didn't he appear still recovering from their last battle in a panel when Dark Phoenix appears?

I almost forgot to thank you again for those wonderful pages.

Your Magneto is the real Magneto!

••

That hardly qualifies as "using Magneto".
