Then I was misinformed. A matter of no consequence.

My family moved around a lot when I was young as well, and my brother and I
would ultimately settle on a local movie theater for our regular weekly visit. For
us it was Sundays - and those weekly visits really sustained me through the
weirdness of always being the New Kid. Those Sundays meant everything to
me, and I looked forward to it all week.

A lot of the places we lived required us to get a ride from mom or dad - which
was a drop off/pick-up situation. The game changer was when we moved to
Kingwood, Texas and could ride our bikes to the local theater. That was
amazing, and we saw every movie that hit that theater.

I saw some strange stuff at the Sahara. MY FAIR LADY, WEST SIDE STORY, the Hammer/Herbert Lom version of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. I saw HERCULES UNCHAINED there, and later grumbled that the sound had been out of sync, so the movement of the actor's lips did not match the words they were saying. . .

They used to have Halloween shows, which usually consisted of old Bowery Boys movies.
