Having grown up in Canada, where it seemed everyone was hyphenated, it was with a sinking heart that I watched the same mentality spreading here. I think back to a scene in a movie I saw on TV as a kid. A group of European immigrants, proudly declaring themselves to be AMERICAN.

His being chosen as veep is the first time I’ve heard of Tim Walz. I assumed his name was pronounced Waltz. Now I know the correct pronunciation, I wonder if anyone is spinning jokes about Trumf’s obsession with walls.

We should have a national conversation about the Republican Party's illegal Iraq invasion and their enduring commitment to killing American troops in strategy-free quagmires around the world. And about how feeding another forty year old soldier into the meat grinder twenty years ago would have won the War of Terror.
All the videos Republicans are circulating to prove Walz lied about his military service actually show him telling the truth.
My late father was in the National Guard, and retired after mustering our state for Operation Desert Shield; even though were no serious casualties among his units, he was traumatized by the responsibility of sending so many to potential death.
I can't say for certain what Dad would have thought about Walz and his service. He was a Vietnam veteran and despised Swift Boat Veterans for Truth and said they dishonored their service when they defamed John Kerry. It's the same crew smearing Walz.

The Democrats need to run some commercials featuring Trump's comments about how soldiers who die in combat are "suckers."

Tim Walz is my governor. I've already voted for Walz twice (2018 and 2022 gubernatorial elections). He's as decent, normal and sensible a human being as you'll ever find.
Is there anyone on Earth Harris could have chosen that they would have said "Cool choice! Well done!" to? Not thrown knee-jerk improvised invective at? No. Of course not. However, the level of vitriol is indicative of the level of their fear.
Aside: Scott Kelly (Mark Kelly's twin and fellow astronaut) noted that JD Vance did not go to Iraq when "asked". Marine Corporal Vance was *ordered* to go. Like everyone else in the military, you don't get a say. No RSVP, "You are cordially invited" letter. You go where assigned. If the Army had wanted Walz to delay his retirment, there are Stop-Loss clauses they can invoke if they wished. Obviously, they did not, and let the 41 year-old CSM retire.

I was just going to post the same thing. How any Veteran can actually be for
Trump and think he supports them is beyond me.
