I'm hoping JB will answer the question about Legends and Guy Gardner defeating "Sunspot" (an obvious Star Brand parody), but wanted to chime in and say that my recollection is that Legends came out before JB went back to Marvel and worked on Star Brand.

I loved the series from start to finish, but originally only had the Shooter/Romita Jr issues because I believe the series went to Direct Market Only about the time JB took over.  It was three years later when I finally visited a comic shop for the first time and eventually was able to pick up the rest of the series.

Nah! I was one of those odd-ball editors(as JB will
attest) I approached wriotes and artists whose work I
liked, and who I believed had a similar approach to a
particiular book, asked them to work with me... and then
I let them do their thing. If we deviated... we talked...
if we couldn;t find common ground... we parted company.

THat's what I thought editors did.

Stupid me.

Yeah... I've noticed that as well... sorry. They are
appearing finished when I type them... and than when it's
posted a few letters are dropped off. I even tried
throwing extra spaces at the end of the posts. Sorry if
it's annoying.
