You can really see that there is a "million" years of artistic advances between the Box here and in the actual series.

Great work JB. I am reminded of when I first bought that issue off of the newsstand. Then raced over to my grand parents house and read it. I remember being a bit angry with you at the time for killing Guardian/ Vindicator/ my favorite character in the book. I know that you've said that you really didn't intend for Alpha Flight to be a monthly comic, more just guest characters. I must know what was your reason behind killing Guardian? Why not Northstar, or one of the other characters?

Guardian was the least interesting character, but his
death generated the most interesting storyline.

Ok, it did make an interesting storyline, but I'm surprised that you thought Guardian was less interesting than the rest of the characters. I liked all the characters in the comic when you worked on it. After you left, I grew less fond of them as each issue went by. Unfortunately for me, I got a two year subscription to the book at issue 20.
