Something just occured to me looking at my past X-men trades (so I
could spell Proteus earlier...), and that is that Colossus would have
blue fabric on his legs when he was human, but when he turned to steel,
the rest of the costume stayed in place, but the blue leg part
disappeared. For over 30 years, I have never noticed this, nor as it
ever bothered me, and it still doesn't. Funny, with a comic book, the
things you just don't think about.

I noticed it in the first issue it happened in and it bugged the piss out
of me.

I can't believe the unintentional (yet horrible) pun I made in my post above! I've always had a fascination with the way you've drawn Wolverine's mask JB. To read a comment on the thought process behind it is a real thrill for me, silly as it may sound. At any rate, I think this is my favorite of the three endpapers I've seen. Some lucky fan out there has hit the jackpot IMO.

JB how much time does something like this take to draw? **** Mostly due to the "mechanical difficulties", the sheer awkwardness of working inside the covers of a bound volume, these drawings average about 1.5 hours for a single sheet.

Love the result but I hate that this is the final one. Although I've enjoyed all of them so I can't be too concerned. Thanks again for sharing the fruits of your labors.

Simple answer: the X-Men's costumes are made of unstable molecules. You'll also occationally notice Storm tranforming her street clthes into her costume by a lightning bolt.
