Beautiful Widow piece, JB!!! I dig it when you take on characters you're
not associated with.

Wow, just like I imagined it would turn out. Thanks JB!!! She will take her place right beside my She-Hulk commission. It brings me back when I first recieved The Art of John Byrne book in the mail in the early 80's. That Black Widow sketch was the first page I turned to in the the book. I am truly taken back.

Well, as long as you're not taken aback!
(What a difference one letter makes!)
Glad you like her!

She's purty! I can see why she would have been a successful spy. Accents and leather on a woman makes a man's brain not work properly.

Charles, I also love it when John tackles characters that he is not normally associated with. It's what makes some of these commissions so special. In many instances, it is the only time John may ever draw a particular character.

I'm really, really digging the way you've been doing the texturing on the black costumes, JB. Better than ever.

I was introduced to the Black Widow in the grey costume/short hair era of Frank Miller's Daredevil so that will always be my favorite costume/style.
That said, the black "Emma Peel" costume is awesome also. And this is an excellent rendition of it!!! I love the arm foreshortening.

I've always liked the Black Widow.
My favorite story and version of her was the one that George Perez did for the much-missed Marvel Fanfare.
This one by JB is right there with it.
Man, what a nice piece.
