Not very familiar with the early X-Men days, I first noticed the Scarlet Witch
reading the classic Arkon tale in Avengers (one of my favorites, but, then, all
Thomas/Buscema stories are great).

Later, I enjoyed the love triangle with the Vision and Hawkeye, particularly,
in light of Pietro's contempt for the android. Hawkeye was fun as a spurned
lover.

The marriage to the Vision and, especially, the babies, turned it all into the
Addams family...only boring.

Did she start off with black hair? Can't tell from the first micro. Either way, I never realized they moved her closer and closer to red hair. Which seems silly, because that's really pushing the "scarlet" theme.

My first intro to her costume was close to the time Perez was first on Avengers. I think it was the Grim Reaper storyline. Yet over the years, I find myself liking her very first costume better.

I don't like the  Micro Heroes aesthetic, but I really appreciate the throughness of the approach! I love (or hate!) seeing the changes that are made to characters over time.

So weird that this should come up today. I was re-reading my copy of X-Men
Visionaries: Neal Adams literally just last night, and in X-Men issues 59-60,
the Scarlet Witch has the same costume design as she did in the Kirby
issues, except that her legs are bare! As in, she's got the red swimsuit-part
on, but sans the violet leotard-part. I thought this seemed pretty weird
(albeit also pretty hot, especially when Jean wears the outfit), and was
wondering if that's what she actually wore in 1969, or if this was just a
coloring mistake. I see that there's no bare-legged micro in the first row of
the page linked to above, so maybe the X-Men appearance was an error/
fluke?

JB or anyone else who knows the history, any insights?

My first introduction to Scarlet Witch (and the rest of the Avengers) was this issue.

My introduction to the Witch was, of course, here:

Curious that it is Quicksilver who is in green inside, and who would "revert" to blue several years later.

Glad the Micro-Heroes guy didn't feel he had to include this particular "variant"

++++
That's how she was always colored in the Brazilian reprints...

No Commission -love- for Wanda as of yet JB?

Not suggesting that you'd put any more effort in one commission over another but I'd have thought the canny-commissioner might have recognised your 'affection'?!? for the character;-)

My first exposure to Zatanna was in JLA 161.  Tons of cheesecake poses and that outfit was... tight and revealing to say the least.  But she is still in character, rather stuffy and chaste if anything.  I sought out other issues of her and soon discovered the fishnets and bowtie outfit... man!  The silver age wasn't perfect, but it sure knew how to do sexy without necessarily ruining the character underneath.
