Very nice piece and a great idea!

Out of curiousity, JB, if an action commission "required" a civilian crowd, would there be an easy way to beforehand figure out the commission cost, given that it'd probably be hard for the commissioner to know what would be an appropriate crowd number, etc?

Yeah, but still a tricky one. Some mighty fine stories being lost. And what if you wouldn't have been offered the FF after not taking the X-Men gig... there are just so many uncertains that could lead to other but equally devastating results, somehow.

As for the lettering... I have to say I belong to the crowd who don't really see it, when JB says his lettering "sucks". I tend to like the way it looks whether it's the kind in Johnny Thunder piece referenced or stuff like replications of pre-existing display lettering.

I keep coming back and looking at this piece. I literally cannot wait for it to arrive. Seriously, I'm packing my car and driving to CT as I type, so I don't have to wait. It's a small enough state if I just yell JB's name real loud I should be able to find him.

It's not THAT small, Paul. And you'll note, since I moved, I have been very
coy about letting it be known which END of the state I now live in.

Foiled again! I don't think I have enough money left to fill the gas tank anyway.

I just picked this up from the post office today. Even my wife was impressed and she could care less about comic book art. Once again I thank Jim for making the deal and JB for taking my crazy request and turning it into a masterpiece.

It's been two and half years since this one was completed?  Really?  It remains one of my favorite re-imaginings.  I'd love to see more done with this idea of re-imagining the later X-Men designs into the original X-Men covers.  Too cool.
