Quick! Someone commission Darkseid trouncing some Marvel heavy hitters...Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man and....Spider-Man?

••

That was almost THIS. When originally asked to do the piece, I suggested Darkseid instead of Thanos, as Darkseid is the original.

That Thanos vs Avengers commission parallels this one nicely!  Both villains holding an incapacitated hero by the throat (Wonder Woman/ Captain Marvel), one of the heroes very close to the "camera" (Superman/Thor), hero swooping in above and somewhat behind the villains (Batman/Vision) and two heroes just pretty much totally out of it (Green Lantern/Flash and Scarlet Witch/Iron Man).  Interesting!

This piece is further evidence that Dr. Doom is one of those characters that JB just totally owns.  I would add Wolverine, Galactus and Thing to the list of characters no other (living) artist can hold JB's pen nubs when it comes to drawing them.

After my last post I'm asking myself why I haven't commissioned a piece with Galactus, Wolverine, Dr. Doom or Thing in it!

This is what I call a crossover!   Seriously.  Only JB can do this and make Doom look like a bad-ass in the DC universe.

What a beauty!  Love the Superman in the foreground. The amount of details is phenomenal...

Both villains holding an incapacitated hero by the throat (Wonder Woman/ Captain Marvel)…

••

On a technical note (and because it's kind of important to the "mood"), Doom is not holding WW by the throat. He had his left arm around her, supporting her weight.
