Also cool that Franklin looks like Reed.

I meant to comment on that, too! Not only that but you can see a bit of JB's Childhood Franklin face in it, too. At least the way he'd drawn young Franklin more recently.

JB's DOFP Franklin looked a but too generic...unless you weren't told that he was Franklin I bet nobody would have gotten it. But this one is so much more improved!

What a great idea for a commission. How did you do the lettering on the wanted poster, JB?

Oh, wow. That is truly amazing. Love the stance of the Thing. Incredible background and lettering. What a fantastic way to begin 2010 with commissions on this board. My favorite character drawn by JB.

Compare to the original X-MEN cover and see how much JB's rubble has improved!

Wow! This is a fantastic start to the new year. (no pun intended.) I love commissions like this. Meaning one I wasn't clever enough to think of myself.

One thing (no pun) I was interested in seeing when I asked for this was how JB was going to portray a Ben Grimm around 60 years old.  John actually did it once before, back in the early 200s of the series, where Reed, Sue, and Ben were hit by an aging ray.

Anyone who says his "old stuff was better" is just plain nuts.

WOW!  That is a stunner!  I wish I could read the comic.  My favorite of 2010 so far.

I believe the "older was better" crowd hasn't seen any of the original art or even looked at the comics over the years.  It is just nonsense from fools.

Superb.

And to think, even in the future, Ben still doesn't look a day over...whatever age he's supposed to be.

(How exactly would one draw an aging Thing, anyway?)
