Wonderful piece! JB, when someone asks for a re-imagining of one of your covers, do you preceive it as a slight against your previous work or as a chance to flex some of your creative muscles?

Glad you were asked to change the blacks on Spider-Man - my second thought on seeing the original was 'Huh, he's in blue'. My first was of course 'Fantastic'.

Awesome. I love the red & black costume. I REALLY like Sandman on this...and Kraven is a close second. Great action, expressions, etc.

I've said it before ... I love to see all those heavy blacks. It really makes Spider-Man more powerful.

Wow! I like it even more now! Blacked-in Spidey really pops (as others have said) and does a nice job finishing the piece. Great stuff all around!
Whenever questions like "who do you want to see turn up in JB's commissions?" I always try to promote more Spider-Man villains! Glad to see this one.

I like it either way, but I think this one is better, especially in b&w!

Aw, jeez. After I said that commission was the best EVER, you went and made it BETTER. John Byrne made a liar out of me (attention haters - please don't make a "bad Byrne story" out of that statement) and I'm glad!

I like the shading on Spider-Man better than the previous version, and I am loving the Sandman.
