So, has anyone ever seen another Kubert Captain America anywhere?

By the way, that's sooo cool.

Michael,

I know multiple people have been turned down by Kubert after requesting a Captain America piece.  I think he did a variant cover for a Marvel comic with Cap but I could be wrong.  This is quite an accomplishment by Jim to pull this off!

What Kubert book was this for?  I can't remember.  That's one cool Sgt. Rock, Clint.

••

Jim has been responsible for some truly remarkable pieces finding their way into my collection, over the years. both as gifts and as things he has help me track down and acquire.

As this visit rolled nearer, he kept telling me he had really outdone himself, this time, and this was the best one yet. A week or so ago I was chatting with a friend up in Canada (Hi, Paul!) and said I was afraid Jim had really over-sold whatever it was he'd got for me. "At this point," I said, "the only way I'm not going to be disappointed is if it turns out to be that Joe Kubert Captain America drawing I have been wanting for so long -- and we know THAT'S not gonna happen!"

Jason, here is my Kubert...I asked for The Creeper...with Rock as my back up idea...can't say I was disappointed!

••

That is thoroughly gorgeous, Clint!

But -- a request to anyone else who might get the itch -- let's not turn this into a thread of posts of your Kubert sketches. Like to keep mine special (if not unique) for as long as possible!

Thanks!
