Wow! Luke Cage looks like he's going to step out of the drawing, almost a 3-D effect. Nice!

Oh, that's a nice grouping of late-70s vintage heroes! I'm particularly fond of Cage here.... Regarding the Appearance List, perhaps this has been covered before (if so, I apologize in advance), but why does Phoenix rate her own line separate from Jean? Yes, I know they became different entities, but....

I thought Marvel Team-up also when I saw Spider-Man and Captain Britain. Did the other characters appear in the series as well?

This is such a great snapshot of the "street-level" New York heroes. New York Marvel is great.

****************** At one time or another, sure. All together? Don't think so. All drawn by JB, nope. ( Daredevil and Spider-Woman are excluded.)

I always liked the fact that Power Man and Iron Fist wound up as partners. Here you had these two characters, each created to cash in on a popular film genre of the early 70s, and by the late 70s, both genres had lost their cachet and neither character could sustain his own book. So Marvel sticks the two characters in a book together and the two manage to headline for another six or seven years, outlasting the blaxploitation and kung fu crazes by a good decade.

Funny thing was, after the series was launched we discovered IRON FIST had been selling better than Marvel thought, so really the book need not have been canceled! (Or, at the very least, the new title should maybe have been IRON FIST AND POWER MAN!!)

Yes, I know they became different entities, but... ••• ...but, what? --- ...but, given that there's been a good dozen+ "hosts", you nonetheless mean the Jean Grey Phoenix when you're drawing the character. For that matter, the Marvel Comics wiki states: "The [Phoenix] Force realized that Jean was one of its missing pieces, its prime host, and so it merged with her fully." So, once again, until the Powers That Be change their minds on the subject, they ARE the same. That said, it's your list. :)
