One of my "themes" in ALPHA FLIGHT was people overcoming different kinds of handicaps. Puck, Box, Aurora. For reasons that remain a mystery to me, this was one of the first elements Bill set about undoing when he took on the writing. He focused instead on ALPHA being "the book where people die".

AF tanked - badly - mere minutes after you were gone.  I don't think I lasted two issues.

But again, great commission!

There's tanking, and then there's tanking! YOU may not have lasted more than two issues, but the book itself went on for a 140 more!

I may not have cared much for what Bill was doing, but clearly a lot of people did!

I lasted another 15 issues or so. Hey, even though I really wasn't liking
the stories, you made me care enough about the characters to put up
with it. But after the issue where Sasquatch came as a woman and
Roger Bochs got his legs back then promptly went insane after Aurora
jilted him, I realized that these just weren't the same characters
anymore, and I left.

Too true! I guess there really is no accounting for taste.

I hear The Hulk even went on for a while!

I must say that I did go on to become a HUGE Mike Mignola fan once he really "found" himself and his style is one of my very favorites.
