Slick!

Would love to read more adventures with these two in JB's Generations.

There's something very cool about JB's version of the car - aside from looking more Futura-y (which helps!), I can't put my finger on why this is, but I do think it's extra-neat to have the traditional bat-head painted on the hood.

The Gotham skyline is fab, too - no mistaking the location of this pic!

And to top it off, a specific request for smiling heroes. That just pushes all the right buttons, IMO - particularly when it's Batman.

Lovely commish - I've now got a big dopey grin on my face, and I regret it not one whit!

…as a kid I was always looking for this Batmobile to show up in the books and was disappointed when it never did…

••

As I recall, there was some foolishness about DC not owning the rights to that version of the Batmobile.

They did, however, do their own "version", which I modeled for one of the 1960s GENERATIONS chapters.

Hallmark also did a Xmas ornament of it, a few years ago.

Then, in 2011, they did the Barris/Futura version, too.

It didn't even dawn on me that DC might not own any rights to that Batmobile.

Love your modeled Batmobile. Too fun. Sparks thoughts of doing some modeling again.

I must have missed the blue Batmobile ornament but I do have last years Hallmark ornament!

Again great commission. Your Barbara Gordon Batgirl is mighty fine.

This is my commission request and I couldn't be happier!

I share John's passion for the Lincoln Futura concept car and loved seeing it in a GENERATIONS chapter of DOOM PATROL so much I had to paint the model kit to match it.  I like the bat details on the headlamps!

Batgirl is full of energy- a great illustration!  Batman is smiling as much as he should be for that era.

A beautiful, beautiful, composition.  I will treasure it!  Thank you again!

Warm Regards,

Deane

Glad you like it Deane.

Say -- as a fellow Futura fan, would you happen to know anything about the 1/6th scale model I've seen floating around the interweb? It seems to be a commercial model (tho not cheap!), but I can't seem to track down anyone who is actually SELLING it!

Yes, I understand that it is a kit that ran for $2100 (there was a Batmobile version as well) in 2011 or so.  I'm not sure it is still available

I don't know the people involved personally, but this is the group that made it:

http://www.acmedesigninc.com/contact/

His phone and contact info is listed on his site.

I was never a fan of the Futura in red, so I like seeing it here again in white pearl.

Warm Regards,

Deane
