11" x 17" illustration of Hulk and She-Hulk vs. Thanos; the details are:

- Hulk and Thanos grappling in similar poses as The Thing and Hulk in the Birthday Bash commission:

LINK

As in Birthday Bash, please draw Hulk as the larger figure

- Hulk and She-Hulk in same costumes as in Birthday Bash

- horizontal layout with She-Hulk charging to the fight

- background is a city with lots of rubble; in the debris, please include Captain America's shield, Thor's hammer, Iron Man's helmet, and the Silver Surfer's board (with cracks)

(Went a little wider than the bed of my scanner on this one, quite without meaning to! No extra charge for the additional square inches -- and all the missing parts off to the sides ARE on the original!)

That's pretty awesome, JB! I want to read that story! I always loved She-Hulk
in the negative FF uniform!

Oh I do like that. Really fantastic work, JB!

I am a huge Thanos fan so this really works for me.

Yep JB, your She-Hulk is a big part of my comic book pantheon.  Between the graphic novel, the FF and her own series, those are some of by fondest memories of comics.

Bitter-sweet considering how the She-Hulk run went, but I generally never want you to leave a title so I suppose that's just a tad unfair to you.  :)

Love the extra scattered around the floor.Thor's hammer, Cap's shield., the Surfer's board, Iron Man's helmet.

Another brilliant Hulk (great knee btw, really like something about the way the blacks are spotted around that torn trouser) and Thanos' pose is the very epitome of strain.

Lucky commissioner!

That looks incredible!
All the figures are perfect.
The inking is perfect.
I love all the rubble and debris. The way JB drew Cap's Shield, Thor's hammer, etc.
I always loved how JB draws the texture of rock, rubble and debris.
But to me the central figure of this great piece is Thanos. Thanos anatomy
and dynamism of his pose straining against Hulk is simply spectacular.

I love seeing Thanos in these commissions! JB, your lack of interest in the character does not come through in the least when drawing him. Great illustration!

••

Most of my lack of interest in Thanos -- aside from the whole Darkseid Lite angle -- springs from his appearance. Apologies to Jim Starlin, but I just find the character, well, goofy looking.

That said, I also find the effect is much diminished when the colors are removed. Given the vintage, I have wondered from time to time if Jim actually chose those colors, or if they were arbitrary choices on the part of whoever colored the issue in which Thanos first appeared.
