If Frank can make fanboys heads explode in the afternoon, he sleeps better at night.

As a story, I didn't like DARK KNIGHT STRIKES AGAIN very much, but I thought Miller's more "cartoony" approach to the art was pretty interesting. I agree with Busiek that this "ugly Superman" drawing is deliberate. Just one more reason I'm planning to steer clear of DK III. Miller can feel free to hate and diminish Superman (with DC's kind permission) just fine without me.

My hope is this is some monster version of Superman fighting the Atom. Franks emphasis of a super-penis just goes along with me not liking any of the stuff he has done since 300. I do keep buying his stuff. I'm waiting for the old creative fire to be reignited.

Pass. Someone needs to tell Frank to stop trying to be so subversive and clever. He needs a talented editor and the willingness to listen to them.

Frank Miller is being Frank Miller. Love him or hate him, his legacy is set.
I've enjoyed "the ride", even when his art isn't to my liking, just because I respect his artistic need to experiment with his style, same as JB and my other favorite artists tend to do.

I'm glad to see Frank, with his failing health, can still muster drawings. At this point I'm supporting anything he does.

If you mean for his art to return to his former style(s), I'd say that time is passed. As for being creative, in general, this drawing is an expression of Frank Miller's creativity these days. I am not fond of it, but it is creative. If anything, when Frank moves on to a new style, it will be just that: "new". And it may appeal to us more, or maybe less than the current style. But the days of "Daredevil" and even "Sin City" Frank Miller are gone.

...this drawing is an expression of Frank Miller's creativity these days. I am not fond of it, but it is creative...••• More destructive than creative. And don't get me wrong, destruction can be a perfectly valid form of expression. But it should not be considered creative.

I think Miller is one of, if not the only person, that could get this level of reaction to their work. I remember when DC released some Catwoman cover to a book and the same debates sprung up all over the comic forums. I'm not sure he could release anything that wouldn't get this kind of reaction anymore. If art is getting people to feel and react, then he really is the legend some believe him to be.

I never have cared for Miller's artwork, and it hasn't grown on me over time. That Superman is especially ugly.
Busiek's comments just confirmed how ridiculous I find Twitter. What an exhausting way to have a conversation, or convey thoughts: one tiny sentence at a time.

I remember the TP`s of Frank`s Daredevil run from about 10-15 years ago,the interior artwork was as good as i remembered, but the new covers were awful, bad perspective and sort of unfinished.

Looked at it several times I like it better each time. I liked the Catwoman cover from Detective 27 too.
Everybody changes. From Miller to JB to Tim Sale in Captain America: White (still waiting for Iron Man: Gold) Frank will never draw like that daredevil run just like Mike Golden's art doesn't look like his Micronauts work.
At this point I think I need to go back and read DKII I'd probably like it a lot better.
