I had the privilege of meeting the man and his wife about a decade ago. He was very gracious. Now my son has two "easel-sized" SB originals on his wall!

Happy (belated) birthday to a class act.

One of things I love about Buscema's artwork is his trademark powerful punches. He loves to draw incredibly painful-looking punches that send both heroes & villains flying straight thru the panels! He's part of a group of artists that 'get' how Marvel Comics represented DYNAMIC storytelling.

Whenever I opened up a comic drawn by Sal Buscema, I knew there would be something exciting inside!

Just watched "Marvel's Captain America 75 Heroic Years" and Sal's work was used extensively, but not credited.

Happy birthday to Mr. Buscema!

I'm a fan of Ron Frenz's art. Is his style influenced by Sal Buscemi's
work?

[edited to add the missing "r" to Mr. Frenz's last name]

He did great work, especially on my favorite run of SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN in the 'latter Conway' and J.M. DeMatteis eras. Some of those 'Spider-Man vs. Tombstone trading punches' panels come to mind!

Had no idea that was yesterday, his work on Spectacular Spider-Man with J.M. DeMatteis is one of my all time favorites!

The splash page I can never forget is Defenders 13 with Sal and Klaus.
I can tell now that Janson was more of a tracer then, as it looks very
close to Sal's work on PPTSSM later on when Sal inked himself.
Needless to say a big fan, and a perfect post above featuring Sal's
signature full swing punch of devastating power!!!
