OK, so I spent a couple of hours doing this. Thought it looked pretty good on the page. Scanned it in and it looks my normal amateur stuff. Apologies for the crummy join down the middle; I printed it out on two pages and then could not get it to line up when I scanned it back in.
Edited to add: looking back at it and there are some very wonky lines in there. I started off thinking I could go free hand on some of those lines. Couldn't have been more wrong.

Okay, I know I will regret this, but some general notes on the posted inks...First, most of you need to concentrate more on variation in line. Not just tapering within the lines themselve, but using different line weights to establish depth. If the lines on the leaves around Cyclops on page 1 are the same weight as the lines on Sauron's tail, there's a problem. Remember, too, that the inker is expected to have access to a whole flock of tools, and able to produce more and different kinds of line than can come from a pencil. Also, the inker needs to be intuitive, sensing what the penciler is trying to express, and not just steamrolling over it.

Two things struck me knowing that you're doing a 'DO-OVER' here.
First you can go a little further in depth to Kitty's back story and really show how weird it is going from normal teen life to hanging with superheroes. ( I don't recall her ever referring to friends from school, or how they'd react to her being a superhero or even a MUTANT for that matter)
Second, you can show your version of what Nightcrawler looks like shirtless. (with long hair at the elbows and down his back) I recall the unpublished pencils of #138 in Comics Feature magazine (#4, page 12) where Kurt is handing Jean a flower.

JB, any tips or specific criticism you have, I am glad to hear. I can see when I post my inked pages that there are bits that are OK and bits that make me cringe, but I'm not actually sure of how to improve it.

Unfortunately I don't own a light box or the like, so I just inked over a print out. So needless to say it's pretty muddy. Oh well this rookie inker is having fun with it.
oh, and that first panel, forget about it .I don't have pens fine enough to use on a 7x9 page!
