Holy cats, that's a great page right there.  Good to see John Grey and his wife, and Sarah (who I, aged 14, thought I'd 'figured out' was the mother of Rachel from DOFP before subsequent stories told me otherwise)

A not unreasonable assumption, Darren. And one that makes so much more sense than the mess that was troweled in in the aftermath of the death of Phoenix.

John, the newest pencils are so good! You always handle the 'sub plot/character' scenes so well. You make people care and get emotionally invested in the characters and not just the fight scenes. Looking forward to seeing more! Here's the latest crack at it from me!

John Stanisci......another great finish over some very
interpretive rough pencils, there was a lot of decision making on
your part for the pteranodon! Great stuff again, damn, Marvel
could just get a good conservative colorist on this and straight
up publish it!

Dusty, you're taking the words right out of my mouth! Thank you for the very kind words. I'm going to do more throughout the week.

I will also point out that this thread is in no way intended as inker auditions.

JB - I know you've said in the past you usually draw stories out of page order, is it at all odd doing a story page by page in sequence?

Yeah. Like the project itself, it's like stepping into a time machine.

I say do something the very first issue that makes it crystal clear that this does not and will not ever "fit" into 40 year old stories. Either enjoy the ride or get off now!

"Broken" Jean is just tragic beyond words.  I'm sitting here sad over what is, more or less, pencil lines on paper.  Comics have power.

Not happy with the faces in the last panel.

******************
Jean doesn't look like your Jean from this angle, to me at least. A release of tension? Like someone's sleeping face?  My wife takes on a more youthful look when she's asleep, like her cares of the day are forgotten for a while. Just don't tell her I said that.
