If you like the black costume, check this out. You need to cross your eyes so that the pictures overlap and line up with each other. I found it on reddit.

I didn’t like it at all - they were messing with one of the most iconic costume designs in comic book publishing, and a big part of Marvel’s identity.

Oh no, not one of those! I never could get those 90's posters to work for me.

Plus, I don't see anything that this guy improved over the original.

I loved it. And it was a very big deal.

I once asked Shooter how those back-of-the-hand webshooters were supposed to work. In Ditko’s original design, the weblines shot straight out across Peter’s palm, making it the easiest thing in the world for him to grab them. Shooter informed me that “all he had to do” was flip his hand over to grab the line.

Couldn’t make that any way practical in my mind.

*****

But you did it so well. You, Leonardi, Frenz, Zeck and Art Adams were the only ones who really made it look right.

Did anyone else ever have one of these?  They were plastic, smooth on the back but crinkle textured on the front.  I want to say they were about 16 inches tall and cut to the outline of the character.  I can't find any for sale on ebay so I wonder how rare they are?

I was looking for them recently and couldn't remember at all what they were called. Thanks for finding that ad!

I think we had Superman and Batman, at least one of them, anyway. I'm inclined to say that they weren't very durable at all, since I'd have done my best to hang onto them. Low-grade plastic, cheap production values, and forty years' time make me guess that they're pretty rare in 2018.

I've removed the space between the "k" and the "l" a number of times to make this link functional, but it returns with each "Update Post." The same holds true of the space between the "2" and the "1" later in the address. I hope those interested are nevertheless able to use the information in the above link to track down what one of these wall hangings looked like. This seller is selling his for around $100.

On this latest attempt the spaces shifted and now occur between the "s" and the "t" in "plastic" and the "a" and the "s" in "hash."

The original Spider-Man costume is my favorite super hero costume of all.  The black costume is my second favorite.  Seems unlikely that my top two costumes would belong to the same character!
