Agreed on Mr. Adams' work on Batman. Those Brave and the Bold covers, and far too few interiors, really showed a guy who - exactly as Mr. Byrne cited (and performs) - was a professional.
These days, I rather doubt that one could find a true model sheet anywhere at DC or Marvel. After those movies did their own damned versions of the heroes, and the comics felt obligated to play along, consistency has gone to hell.
I recommend Superman: The Man of Steel #37 - "Bats!" to see a variety of versions of Batman, and all masterfully done by Jon Bogdanove. Especially the Neal Adams take (which character I missed SO... and there he was in Zero Hour!) I hate what happened to pull Batman off-model... but so loved the treatment in this book.
