See, my fiancee i knew would not like Batman nearly as much as Spider-man.  She likes a little more fun, a little more jokes, a little more romance.*  Plus she finds Spider-man much more relatable. 

Plus, she said "Batman already had his movies why do we need another" and "How many comic book movies do we need?"

I try to explain that Batman, and spider-man and X-men, and Hulk and Punisher were all pretty different, but.........

*Though she liked the Punisher, go figure.

As to legs, well it is a good movie, and we haven't seen it before.  Will kids be too scared by the Scarecrow to see it more than once? Unknown-he was pretty scary.

Herbie and Bewitched are its only competition next week so it should do well. 

I'm not one to pay much attention to box office stats, but it seems the film is doing well, if not spectacular.  It should dominate, at least until WAR OF THE WORLDS blows into town.

I just can't work up any enthusiasm for this film; my reaction is just kinda "Oh,  Batman again."  I may just wait for the DVD.

I was going to create a poll, but it appears that would create a new thread, and I don't want to start a redundant thread on the board. Anyway, my question for a poll:

What would hurt "Batman Begins" more in terms of boxoffice success:

1. The stigma of past "Batman" films.

2. The lack of publicity before release.

3. The relatively unknown lead actor.

4. The trailers.

5. The general audience is not excited about another "Batman" film.

6. Other.

The latest numbers from Boxofficemojo.com (sorry I don't know how to do the link thing) has Batman Begins pulling in 71 million dollars for its first 5 days.  Certainly not horrible numbers, but I suspect more was expected.  Given the huge drop offs now typical at the box office, BB has a decent chance at $200 million and maybe a little more.  That should be good news, but I wonder what the studio reaction would be if an icon like Batman comes in behind not only Spider-man but the X-men as well.
