I gotta say Dr. Psycho was one of the most disturbing villians I've read in a long time, I actually felt uncomfortable with some of the stuff he was doing, also with some of the stuff going on with Superman in general, Good Work! I'm on for the long haul.

More to the point, Shrapnel appeared in the Kupperberg/Larsen run on
DOOM PATROL back in the mid-80s, which never happened in the current
DP continuity. That doesn't mean Shrapnel does not exist, but it does mean
he is not known for fighting the Doom Patrol as Superman mentions.

Hey JB,

any chance of you posting up the pencils to the last page here? I'd love to see them and like a kid at Christmas don't want to wait a month.

thanks,
andy

Yeah, I really like that page too. While I thought Strucker under-inked in several places (whereas Nelson over-inked), that last splash page looked just right to me. Almost looked like it was inked by Art Thibert.

Good issue.  I like Stucker's inks much better than Nelson's finishes.  This is still the best Superman book out in my opinion.  You draw the definitive Superman, JB.

SPOILERS, comments and questions for the JBF members

The people getting in Superman's way and harming themselves is a good way to seriously threaten Superman without using magic or Kryptonite.

Is this diminutive villain new to the DCU?

I like this Black Adam character.  I've never read about him before this series.

The level of detail in the airplane/airport scenes was amazing.  I think I have actually seen some of those people on a flight before.  No Image-era artist could have pulled that scene off without it looking like an episode of Baywatch!

I would have preferred a JB cover, but the rest of the book was so great that I can overlook that...
