Great commission! I dig the way JB used black to make the Cosmic Cube
look so bright.

Trick I picked up from Ditko. When he wanted, say, the beam from a ray
gun to look bright he would lay a heavy line on the edges.

This is something completely defeated by modern colorists, of course, who
love to knock out such things with color, thus diminishing the contrast and
the effect.

(On the TREK books, I have been asking for the holding line on phaser
fire to be knocked out in color, which is vaguely ironic I suppose.)

This is Mrs. Clint.  I want to thank JB for creating such a powerful piece!  I had no idea that this was for me until I saw it for the first time this morning.  The evil and destruction is flawless and what speaks volumes to me is the rumpled flag on the ground.  I can picture in my head the terrific events that led up to this moment for Red Skull.   Thank you again you are amazing!

Clint again....Super job, JB! Love everthing about this one, esp the Kirby Krackle in the Cube. the Skull's uniform came out great. THANKS again.

Here's a pic of our JB wall, now we are just waiting on the next shipment to fill in the empty frames. BIG thanks to JB and of course Jim.

JB, could this method work for something like Cyclops' optic blast or Superman's heat vision when either was used with greater-than-normal intensity?

Stunning commission. Congratulations to Mrs. Clint.

JB almost looks like he's channeling Klaus Janson on Red Skull's...err, skull. Very cool!

Clint, I might have to take you up on the offer to check out your art!  That wall is really shaping up, you have some really great pieces there.

Seeing Clint's wall, again, puts me in mind of something that has happened
often when I have been showing civilian friends, or friends of friends, my
Studio. Of course, the first thing I have to say is that the art, with less than
a handful of exceptions, is not my work, but representative pieces of people
whose work I have admired over the years.

But then comes the odd part -- I have to emphasize that this is the
original art. For some reason, despite the framing and display this
does not seem to occur to people without a small nudge.
